BASES & ROUTES
Where are the Cape Air pilot bases?
Most of the communities that we serve are pilot bases. Many of our pilots choose to live in their base, as that is where their assigned flying begins and ends every day. Our pilots bid for their base twice a year through a seniority bid system, which allows for some of the seasonal transitions many of our pilots do every spring and fall.

How are pilot bases assigned?
Pilot bases are determined through a seniority bid system. Many pilots will be required to transition between our regions for the summer and winter seasons. Monetary assistance is given to transition pilots once hired with Cape Air. Newly hired pilots can expect to be based in any of our regions.
