In 2023 the median gross compensation for a first-year and second-year Captain totaled $89,130 and $106,616, respectively. Total gross compensation includes the minimum guarantee (40-hours weekly), overtime, and incentive pay. One incentive shift is valued at 150% of your hourly rate and a bonus of $300 per shift added.


While most airline pay rates for pilots vary based on time spent on the ground and time spent in the air (block time), Cape Air pays pilots the same rate for every hour they are on duty (duty hour). This means your rate of pay is the same on the ground as it is in the air – making your income secure and predictable.
